Day 11 of 21

I' m starting to care for this character. Although I didn't paint anything yesterday, I spent long time trying to write a text that could give sense to this illustration...I have lots of ideas in mind, but it's easier to render them in images than in words :)

What do you do illustrator friends when this happens to you? Is it possible to find a writer who accepts working with ideas proposed by the illustrator?

I have to apologyze for my delay with this challenge, I'm doing it at my own rythm, which sometimes can be a bit slow, but I rather work steady and conscienciously than hurried and bad.

I want to thank all the comments that you leave here, and I am hoping to visit you in the next days. I'm realy learning a lot from all of you with this experience and is great to be able to share it with people so talented and generous that also feels the same love for illustration.

  3. Hello! I found your blog through Sonia's. I love this flying man. And I know exactly the feeling of having images in your head that are bursting with a story to be told. but it is hard to put the story into words... it is crazy! But I think the story will evolve naturally in it's own time x

Igual a vos no te hace falta, tus ilustraciones dicen muuuuchas cosas, no hacen falta las palabras.
    Besote!!!

  6. Oh man, this is awesome Paola. I love your painting style. I thought the sketch was cool, but the painting is incredible. I love those striped sox!

My one suggestion would be to not crop the character on the left side, to put even just a little background between the character and the border.

    Great job Paola.

No señor, no estaba loco, no no...

    Viviana

  12. What a cute illo! I love seeing the progression. And to answer your question, I have dealt with writers in the past who welcome a spark of idea. I have a lady who's taken my sketchbook, made photocopies and wrote a bunch of short stories from my sketches. I also write story prompts, and give them to a super talented friend who polishes them up for me and gives them life. We are working on getting her published!
By the way, I can't wait to see your illo of my cake!!!! :-)
