Day 2 of 21

Uff!!! Sundays are a bit complicated with all the family at home!
But nevertheless I maneged to take my 15 minutes for me. I tryed drawing directly with pen, without a sketch or an eraser or a reference...brrr! frightening! It wasn't easy for me, for example Mrs Duck's bonnet stubbornly looked as a helmet, and I couldn't use my eraser! But well, the story was about this limitation this time :)
Tonight is pretty late and I'm afraid I won't have time for visiting all the other illustrators that are playing too, but tomorrow early in the morning I'll be dropping by your blogs.

  1. Oh Paolita... me encanta Doña Pata!! Precioso :o)

  2. Yes, drawing with a pen is a challenge, but it helps you consider all your marks before you make them, which, in turn creates a better discipline. Mrs. Duck came out well!

  5. The bonnet looks great to me, and nice shading, especially for a ball point pen. I also like the loose background.

  6. I like volume in the body and feathers and the loose background as well. Working in pen (and without an initial sketch!) is very scary to me too!!!

  10. That's a great idea for an exercise, Paola, to do a sketch in pen without an eraser (I'll have to try it!)
I love the look and feel of the feathers, and Mrs. Duck does have a determined walk and very cute expression.
