No pensé que fuera a participar en Illustration Friday esta vez, pero ocurrió algo que me hizo sentir y comprender como nunca lo que es la preocupación, la angustia, el miedo.
El sábado muy temprano antes de que amaneciera, estaba todavía durmiendo cuando me despertó sobresaltada el teléfono, era Carlos, mi esposo, que había tenido un accidente mientras manejaba rumbo al trabajo. Un conductor que venía en sentido contrario aparentemente se quedó dormido o venía alcoholizado y de repente se cruzó completamente de carril, tirándole el auto encima y provocando que cayera en la banquina para evitar el impacto. Después de esto huyó, dejando a mi esposo tirado dentro de esta zanja en el auto casi volcado, sin siquiera molestarse por saber si estaba herido o tratar de ayudarlo. Por suerte Carlos no venía a una velocidad alta y solamente se golpeó un poco, pudiendo salir del auto por sus propios medios.
El tiempo se me hizo eterno hasta llegar hasta donde él estaba y constatar que realmente estaba bien, y nadie en la familia se pudo quedar tranquilo hasta verlo y poder abrazarlo. Por más que estamos contentos y agradecidos a Dios ya que fue solamente un susto, queda por dentro una sensación de tristeza y preocupación al pensar en lo que podría haber pasado.
Este boceto está en verdad bastante sucio y desprolijo, pero necesitaba dibujar esta imágen esta sensación que quedó en mi.
I thought I wouldn't participate in Illustration Friday this time, but something happened that made me feel and understand better than never the true meaning of worry, anguish and fear.
Last Saturday, very early before dawn, I was still sleeping when I was awakened by the sound of the phone ringing, it was Carlos, my husband, who had had an accident while he was driving to his work. Another driver, travelling in opposite direction, apparently fell asleep or was drunk and suddenly crossed to my husband's lane, throwed the car on him and made him fall into a ditch by the road to avoid crashing. After that he ran away, leaving Carlos' car almost upside down into the ditch, without even bother to know if he was injured or trying to help him. Luckly Carlos was not speeding and only received some bumbs, being able to get out of the car on his own.
Time was an eternity to me until I could reach to the place where he was and verify he was really ok. All the family in fact could only be calmed when we were able to hug him. It was only a big fright, and we are happy and thankful to God , but inside remains a feeling of sadness and worry for what could have happened.
This squetch is very dirty and messy, but I needed to draw this image and feeling inside of me.
